Wrist Tattoos?

Okay, I’ve ask this question twice and I’m getting more No’s that it doesn’t hurt but still some Yes’s. So I’ll do it one more time. ….*I want to get my Sons name (Tyler) on the inside of my wrist. * I don’t have very good pain tolerance at all and I don’t like needles very much at all. So really tattoos aren’t my thing but I REALLY want to get ONLY 1 for my son. So rating 1-10 how bad does a tattoo on the inside of a wrist hurt ?

10. Ask your family doctor to give you a shot of lidocaine. It will numb the pain and it won’t make you bleed out the ink like alcohol.

I would say 4. I have a bunch of tat’s but, the ones that hurt the most are when you get them in areas close to the bone ie. top of hand, foot, small of back. If you are really worried have a glass of wine before hand (though don’t tell the artist that b/c they won’t do it then). However, you will bleed more. I say go for it. You have already made up your mind and just prolonging the inevitable now. Good luck, Caitlin
oh wow i have my sons name tattooed on me and his name is tyler!! well i can be the first to tell you tats dont hurt i have 4 and they were all a breeze, to ankels one ass, and the back of my neck, at most they sting a little, i also have lots of body percings, and i have a love pain tollerence as well hope this helps
Sense your pain tolerance is kinda low I’d say it’s going to be an 8. There isn’t a lot of flesh on the wrist and that will make it hurt more. But what the hell! You gave birth And that was painful! It just depends on how bad you want it….
First let me say, I am covered in tattoos. I have them all over my body, and EVERYONE of them hurt. Did they hurt so bad I cried? No. Everyone has a pain threshold. Only you can truly answer the question. Tattoos on a scale of 1-10 are about a 3-4 for me. The wrist will hurt more than some areas of the body. Any time you have a low amount of fat in the area, or a convergence of ligaments or tendons it will hurt more. It does not hurt that much though. The area will go fairly numb after a few minutes under the needle anyway. It sounds like a small tat, I’d say you will be OK. Ask the artist to give you a “dry run” with no ink. Just a little touch with the needle in the location you want your tat. Just do it! I guess that is the best I can say. Just be warned, once you have one you will want more!
Since you say you have a low level of tolerance for pain, I’d say probably an 8 for you, although I didn’t think it hurt much. It’ll get a little numb after a few minutes, probably from endorphins and the buzzing of the gun. But you went through childbirth; I can’t imagine a tattoo is worse than that! So if you really want the ink, go for it. The ends justify the means in this case.

mine hurt like a 4, but sine you have a low pain tolerance it’s probably going to be about a 7-9. it’s not going to hurt as bad as if you were to get one on your foot or rib cage. good luck~ if you’re that worried about it then don’t get it done, the more you stress about it the more it’s probably going to hurt. so just go to the tattoo place and get it over with!
I would rate mine a 1 seeing as it didn’t hurt me a bit. I’ve had a harder time getting my ears pierced than the tat on my wrist.
It feels more like a pinching than anything else.
I’m glad to see you are getting a meaningful tattoo and not just something spur of the moment. If you do decide to do it, good luck and it will be worth it!
